Description

RIGRS Coiled Tubing Quad BOP

RIGRS supplies coiled tubing BOPs for pressure-control operations where multiple independent ram functions are requiring around the CT string.
Quad BOP configurations can incorporate gripping, sealing, shearing and blind-closing functions within one assembly. Selection should be based on coiled tubing OD, working pressure, ram sequence, connection, hydraulic operating requirement and service condition.

The quad BOP has a four-ram configuration to provide positive protection against blowouts and to secure the well in emergencies. This permits work to be carried out, under pressure, on surface equipment while the tubing is still in the wellbore. The quad features separate blind seal rams and shear rams, as opposed to a combination shear/seal ram design in the tri-modular BOP.
The BOP is placing directly above the wellhead. It can effectively prevent blowout accidents during workover, drilling, completion, and other operations to achieve safe construction. The equipment has a simple structure, easy operation, convenient use and maintenance, small volume, lightweight, and high pressure.

RIGRS Coiled Tubing BOP – FAQ

Q1: Can a CT BOP be selected only by coiled tubing size?

A: No. Working pressure, bore, ram sequence, connection, hydraulic operating requirements and service conditions must also be confirming.

Q1: What is a quad BOP used for?

A: A quad BOP combines several independent ram functions for gripping, sealing, shearing and closing the well during coiled tubing operations.

Q1: What data is needed to confirm CT shear capability?

A: Provide CT OD, wall thickness, material specification and available hydraulic operating pressure.

Q1: Why are hydraulic volumes important for a CT BOP?

A: They help confirm whether the available pressure-control hydraulic system has sufficient capacity to operate the ram functions.
